The service enables shoppers to access email, social media and websites in the centre and for the first time, shoppers can also check-in on Facebook without using up their costly 3G/4G charges.
Andrew Stephens, centre manager said: “Increasingly, customers want and expect to be able to access Wi-Fi when they are out and about. From making price comparisons to staying connected with social media, this service will enable our customers to remain online while they shop.
“The introduction of Wi-Fi is also part of a number of improvements and upgrades we are making at the centre and we hope it will help to improve our shoppers’ experience when they visit us.”
Lucy Mitchell, Director at NewRiver Retail, said: “We’re delighted to bring free Wi-Fi Powered by The Cloud to St Elli. We take a customer-first approach to our shopping centres and in today’s retail environment that means appreciating that our customers shop in a multi-channel world. Free Wi-Fi is no longer a luxury – it is an inherent part of the consumer experience and will allow for greater engagement from our retailers and a more connected experience for our shoppers.”
